Mattison Digital was born from my maiden name, a little nod to my roots in a small country town in Western New York.
Growing up, I thought success meant getting out. I pictured myself in the big leagues: corporate jobs, bigger titles, sitting in a corner office, and the kind of career that looked impressive on paper. So that’s the path I followed for nearly 20 years.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something unexpected.
I thought success meant escaping where I came from, only to realize I wanted to build something that felt more like home.
Something meaningful, something of my own. Something that gave me the freedom to do work I genuinely loved while helping other people build businesses they were proud of.
And maybe that’s why the name Mattison Digital feels so fitting. It’s a reminder of where I came from, and of how far I’ve come.
Today, I’m a web designer and marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience across industries including non-profits, B2B services, health insurance, retail, and distribution. I’ve spent my career learning how businesses communicate, how people experience brands, and what makes a website not just look good, but actually work.
Now, I use that experience to help small businesses, solo entrepreneurs, coaches, and service providers create professional, strategic websites without the complexity or cost of a traditional agency.
And I do it all with Squarespace.
The Heart Behind Mattison Digital
My path to web design wasn’t exactly a straight line.
Several years ago, a personal family journey led me into the health and wellness space. I became passionate about nutrition, eventually earning a Master Level Health & Wellness Consultant Certification and building my own coaching practice.
As a coach, I experienced something that changed the way I thought about small business. I saw firsthand how much energy goes into serving clients, and how easily everything behind the scenes gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
The website, the emails, the marketing, the tech…all of it. You know it all matters, but when you’re busy actually doing the work you love, it can feel impossible to keep up with everything else.
And I understood that feeling because I was living it, too.
I had spent more than 15 years working with WordPress, but when I needed a website for my own nutrition business, I realized I didn't want to spend my time managing complicated technology. I wanted something professional, flexible, and easy enough to actually use.
That’s when I discovered Squarespace.
What started as a practical solution for my own business quickly became something I genuinely loved. I began seeing all the ways Squarespace could give small businesses the polished, professional presence they needed, without requiring them to become web developers in the process.
My marketing background gave me the strategy, while my design experience gave me the skills. And my experience as a small-business owner and coach gave me something just as important: perspective.
I know what it’s like to wear all the hats. I know what it’s like to have a hundred things on your to-do list and wonder which one you should tackle first. And I know that your website shouldn't become another thing you have to worry about.

The truth is, I love small businesses. I’ve always wanted to build something of my own, to teach, create, and empower other people along the way. And it turns out the skills I’ve spent my career developing are the very skills I enjoy using most. So I built Mattison Digital to bring them together.
